March is the month when we celebrate International Women’s Day—and the perfect time for the James Beard Foundation to launch an exciting new cookbook, A Place at the Table, honoring the talents of women in the restaurant industry. This cookbook featuring signature recipes from 20 honored alums of the Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Program—including our own Alicia Hinze and her flawless recipe for Perfect Vanilla Cake! (And YES! We are thrilled to pieces!)

The Women’s Entrepreneurial Leadership Program is a visionary collaboration between the beardfoundation  and audi, founded to recognize, uplift, and celebrate the innumerable contributions of women in the culinary field—and to encourage them to grow and thrive as industry leaders. As all of the employees and customers of The Buttered Tin can attest: when women lead, we all win.

You’ll also find recipes for show-stopping cocktails, appetizers, salads, and entrees—impeccably styled and photographed by women who are stars in their own rights: food stylist judy.kim, prop stylist maeve_sheridan, and photographer linda.xiao. In addition, the book houses a directory of over 70 women-led, -owned, and -operated establishments across the country including bars, catering companies, restaurants, and more.
