📲Exciting news! Tech futurist and #FIUCARTA alumna, Cathy Hackl, has generously partnered with the College of Communication, Architecture + The Arts to create the Cathy Hackl Virtual Fashion Design Endowment🎓 This scholarship fund is among the first of its kind and supports students in incorporating emerging technologies like AI and extended reality (XR) into fashion design.

Hackl, known as the "Godmother of the Metaverse," has guided renowned brands like Nike, Louis Vuitton, and Clinique, along with cities like Orlando, on their virtual strategies. With this scholarship, she aims to prepare visionary designers for the evolving world of virtual fashion design.
The global virtual fashion industry is predicted to reach $4.8 billion by 2031, making digital fashion a fast-growing field. Through the endowed scholarship, CARTA students can access emerging technologies, like the FIU Lee Caplin Immersive Studio for Altered Reality (iSTAR), and become career-ready media professionals in industries like fashion design.
