## Caption

Meet Real Triumph Graduate and School of Communication + Journalism student Alanna Barlow. Long before Alanna Barlow fell in love with the diversity at FIU, she struggled with self-love and her identity. 

Alanna was bullied in a predominately white elementary school and felt isolated. The bullying turned into an identity crisis, but once in college, her focus on education and extra-curricular activities turned her prospects around. By the end of freshman year, she became involved in various student groups. As a singer, Alanna won the FIU Blaze the Stage competition in 2019. She credits her faith with helping her find her path. After graduation, she plans to become a restorative social justice at attorney to help those who have been wrongfully convicted.
