It’s commencement week! We would like to spotlight #FIUGRAD Atiya Pitaktrakul. Atiya is not only majoring in Public Relations, Advertising, and Applied Communications, but will also graduate with a minor in Hospitality Studies. During her time at FIU, Atiya was Director of Culture for BOLD Strategic Communications Agency, Media Relations Coordinator for the Global Learning Student Board, and Public Relations Intern for the CARTA Dean's Office. She was also a 2022 Global Learning Medallion Recipient.

“Looking back at my 4 years at FIU, I am immensely grateful for the opportunities, connections, and education that I was exposed to,” said Atiya. “As a student who grew up immersed in Thai Culture, FIU felt like a second home to me. It was a place where I felt comfortable sharing my own culture and being exposed to many different cultures and people from different walks of life. I was also able to not only gain more of a global perspective on different topics/issues, but with the help of my professors, I was able to pursue a major that allowed me to be creative and think analytically while combining that with my love for storytelling. My time with BOLD, the Global Learning Office, and the CARTA Dean's office have not only allowed me to gain necessary skills as I get ready to pursue my professional career, but also helped me learn more about myself.”

This summer, Atiya will be part of the MAIP (Multicultural Advertising Internship Program) 2022 cohort where she was matched with and will be interning for the Ad Council as an Account Management Intern through their New York office.
