To Compromise - accepting standards that are lower than is desirable.

Going to the @vikings training camp reminded me that athletes do not compromise. As a former athlete I remember what it is like to strive to be the best, to put in the work, to go the extra mile, and the sacrifices one has to take.

Now that I am officially retired I take this moment to look at my life as a whole and what I tend to compromise on. When do I compromise my mental health, relationships, my boundaries, and my “me” time. 

Don’t get me wrong I am still a very competitive person to the core but I know there are aspects of my life that I can give more and to be frank there are times where I can just be better. 

Going forward I am really going to challenge myself on “is this situation going to provide instant satisfaction or going to be long term beneficial?”

This isn’t a reflection to beat yourself up on but to really peel back that onion and find out in the core what is stopping you from being the best version of you and where you have potential to grow (lord knows we all do).
