Last week, greenpeacejp attended the #G7 #Hiroshima summit where the leaders were unable to reach an agreement on a timeline for phasing out coal and fossil fuel-powered cars. This setback was compounded by their endorsement of new fossil gas which will hinder global efforts to combat the climate crisis and its impacts.⁣
⁣
While scientists, activists, and many other people are demanding change, the leaders have prioritized short-term economic interests over implementing real solutions to protect our planet. 🌏⁣
⁣
As the host nation of this year's G7, #Japan has fallen behind the progressive countries in speeding up the transition to renewable energy and zero-emission vehicles, even has decided to impede progress.⁣
⁣
We are striving to hold the world's biggest carbon emitters accountable. With your support, we will persist in our efforts until tangible change materializes.⁣
