LOST IN THE GARDEN is Adam S. Leslie's debut novel; a screenwriter, musician, and podcast host, who grew up in rural Lincolnshire in the 80s and can now be found roaming the side-streets of Oxford or holed up in the big Blackwell’s bookshop daydreaming of stories and snacks.

"Lost in the Garden is a dreamlike literary folk-horror about nostalgia, regret and half-forgotten memories. 

"This is an idea I’ve had simmering away for about 30 years, since I was 18 or 19. It started life as a screenplay called 'Storm Clouds Over Almanby', which I wrote one summer whilst working in a rural petrol station... I’m a big believer in never throwing away ideas. You’re only a teenager once, and you never quite get those same heady teenage preoccupations back. I couldn’t have written this book aged 18, but I couldn’t have thought of the story aged 48.

"I’d always wanted Storm Clouds Over Almanby to be my directorial debut… till I had to come to terms with the fact that severe anxiety and lack of assertiveness are not ideal traits for a film director. And besides, there was more that I wanted to explore in the world of the story than I could fit into a 90-page script."
