<Tuesday terminology>
Gedan barai uke
One of the first blocks we learn in the dojo! 👍🏻 sometimes we just say “down block”, which is also make sense, but don’t forget about the “sweeping” part of the block as well! It’s there for a reason!👍🏻

I got a lot of comments regarding my torso not being half body! It’s very common in Shotokan style to have the body in hanmi position, but in Shito-ryu which I practiced in the past, and Ryuei-ryu which I practice now our body is facing straight. Although the name of the blocks are the same, all styles are slightly different, which makes karate interesting! 😊👍🏻
