Making it to medal match yesterday was a big feat for me. It made me realize how far I’ve come. 

Past several years have been tough for me, simply because my results did not reflect the effort and work I put in.

But what helped me the most, was to realize how much support I’ve had from my family. No matter the results, my family has always been by my side. They always motivated me, pushed me, and provided me the best environment for my growth as an athlete and as a person.

I don’t like to talk about my family issues, but my family has been in tough circumstances in many ways. Sacrifices were made, and a lot of opportunities were given up, just so that they can support me and my athlete life. I can’t thank them enough for giving me something that I can be so passionate about for such a long time.

Kata competition is very subjective even with the new point system. I believe I was able to fight my way to the medal match yesterday because I DID NOT GIVE UP. Hard work is slowly paying off. I’m very happy with my recent results thanks to my family.

I’ll keep striving for excellence. There is still room for improvement! OSS!

今まで自分は自分の為に空手をやってきたつもりでした。「自分が強くなりたいから。」それだけで大会を回ってきました。しかし、オリンピックの選考を始め、世界ランカーと戦う中で自分の力だけでは勝てないと実感してきました。

そんな中、すべてのサポートをしてくれたのが家族でした。わがままばかり言って世界を回って、結果どうあれ、いつも助けてくれました。家族の細かい事は言うのは自分は好きではありません。本当に生活が大変な状況の中、家族はいつもそばにいて、いつも自分を最優先に思って助けてくれます。主観的な型競技で今回メダルマッチに行けたのも今まで家族全員で諦めず、沢山の大会に出れたおかげだと自分は思います。今は、「一人では空手はできない。」そう実感しています。今まで本当に頑張って来て良かった。

これからもさらなる高みを目指して頑張ります。
