However, this can get complicated if you have a dog. There are a plethora of dangers that come with Christmas decorating. ⁣

Here are tips on how to decorate to keep your dog safe at home this Christmas season:⁣

1. Make the tree smaller and out of reach 🌲- This  compromise will pay off big if you have an active dog who loves to chase shiny things. This significantly reduces the risk of choking and injuries. ⁣

2. Don’t let the Christmas cables hang loose - Keep your cables off the floor or anywhere that your pet can reach. They tend to tangle and strangle themselves with it. They can also get electrocuted. Oh no!⁣

3. Opt for decors that do not break - Those glass baubles might be gorgeous and sparkly but dogs could seriously injure themselves if they break or smash them. ⁣

4. Pick subdued colors for wreaths and ribbons - Colorful things attract a dog’s attention so perhaps a less explosive color that blends in the background will make them lose interest. ⁣

5. Avoid candles - Aside from burning themselves, your dog could accidentally light your house on fire on supposedly the most wonderful time of the year. You don’t wanna be homeless on Christmas.
