🟢 Efforts to save harlequin toads are working, and Re:wild is dedicated to supporting that success! 

Dr. Lina Valencia believes in the value and power of partnerships for harlequin toad conservation. “Rather than work as isolated stars,” Valencia says, “we need to work as a constellation.” ✨ As Re:wild's Andean countries coordinator, she operates in this spirit in every aspect of the work that she does, from establishing and improving management of protected areas to supporting iIndigenous and community-based conservation efforts - even sharing books to help educate local school children in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta about beautiful harlequin toads. 

Re:wild is proud to be a part of the Atelopus Survival Initiative (ASI), which brings 60 organizations in 15 countries to protect and restore harlequin toads. By strengthening the capacity of captive breeding programs for threatened species, piloting the reintroduction of lost species, removing invasive species and advancing restoration projects, monitoring the population status of species in the wild, the ASI is determined to save these species.
