🦙 Argentina’s largest wildlife translocation - moving over 30 Guanacos nearly 1,000 miles to #rewild their historic range - is bringing a key species back and bolstering biodiversity.
The Guanaco is one of the largest herbivores in South America and plays a vital role in high-elevation ecosystems. Conservationists estimate that in the last century this species has declined by 90% in Argentina.
🟢 Re:wild partner @rewilding_argentina is working to conserve the migratory routes of Guanaco throughout #Patagonia to allow this large herbivore to continue fulfilling its ecological role, contributing to a thriving ecosystem.
Santa Cruz, La Pampa, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development and Rewilding Argentina are working together to ensure the return of this great South American herbivore. 🇦🇷
