Whether you can see it or not, geodiversity is all around you!
But what exactly is geodiversity?

From minerals 💎 to rivers 🏞 to mountains 🏔 -- geodiversity is the foundation of all biodiversity - one of our planet’s most precious resources.
It allows life to develop and thrive and underpins all ecosystems on Earth.

Today, as the world is facing major challenges, geological diversity has the potential to teach us about the impact of the climate crisis at different periods of the Earth’s history and can help us take targeted #ClimateAction to adapt more effectively to future risks.

On Friday's #GeodiversityDay & every day, join unesco in protecting the diversity of our geological heritage.
