As part of her treatment for severe malnutrition, three-year-old Elsir eats a nutritious peanut-based paste in Dongola, #Sudan.

“This is her second packet today,” says Elsir’s mother. “She is enjoying it. After two days, she’s gained weight.”

Continuing violence in Sudan has left more than 13.6 million children in urgent need of lifesaving humanitarian support, the highest number ever recorded in the country.

unicef is working to provide families with supplies and services, including food, water, critical health care, as well as child protection and mental health.
