‘Hoser’ is the Canadian way for saying ‘Loser’. Before the iconic Zamboni was invented, the general rule at the local hockey pond (or skating rink) was the team who lost the game would maintain the ice by ‘hosing’ it down. The losers became known as the hosers and a piece of Canadian Pop Culture was born.
