We witnessed a nail-biting clash between Akatsuki and Eastside Elite, where both teams left everything on the court.

Despite their respective records, with Akatsuki at 3-3 (7) and Eastside at 1-6 (8), this game was unpredictable to say the least.

@kadencarrion_ of Eastside lit up the scoreboard with an impressive 28 points, sinking 7-threes to keep his team in contention.

Contributions came from all sides, with @joaq.basketball adding a double-double of 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 assists, @luka_subotic chipping in a 15 point, 11 rebound, double-double, and their drop-in player contributing 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Akatsuki, known for their defense, demonstrated their superiority with 12 steals compared to Eastside’s 3.

Niko Mottus was a force to be reckoned with, posting 23 points, 14 rebounds, 7 assists, and 4 steals.

@kashdiesel led the scoring for Akatsuki with 25 points, while Jarred and Gerard added 17 and 14 points, respectively, with Gerard nearly securing a triple-double with 9 assists, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals.

Throughout the game, neither team managed to pull away significantly. Akatsuki leveraged their size advantage to dominate the paint, scoring 50 points inside. Whereas, Eastside’s sharpshooters kept the game close, with their 15 three-pointers accounting for 45 points.

The first overtime was a defensive stalemate, with neither team able to score.

The tension carried over into the second overtime, where clutch performances made the difference.

Kash’s crucial and-one play, followed by a converted free throw, and Niko’s two clutch free throws, sealed the game. Despite Eastside’s valiant effort, they were stifled on their final shot attempt, facing a double team that thwarted their upset bid.

In the end, Akatsuki emerged victorious in a thrilling 87-84 win and move up to the 6th spot in the league with 1 game left before playoffs.
