Because it’s PA Week, and PAs are committed to TEAM-based care, I wanted to recognize all of the other professions that make it possible for PAs and PA educators to care for patients and train the future healthcare workforce. There is no way I could be all-inclusive here, but I will try my best. Thank you to the custodians, the nurses and NPs, the physicians, the first responders, the techs, our families and friends, our teachers and mentors, our baristas (🙌🏻), our military, our legislators, and most importantly our patients that trust us with their care in their most uncertain moments. Here are a couple of people I ran into on campus today that support the PA profession in ways they might not even be aware of. 
1️⃣ Janesia Land with custodial services empties my trash and provides encouraging conversation every evening. She works with a smile on her face and will belt out some Whitney Houston with her headphones in when she doesn’t know I’m here 🤣 I truly miss her when she has a night off!
2️⃣ Dr. Lindsay Meyers, PhD, works in Academic Development at EVMS. It is difficult to put into words the appreciation I have for Dr. Meyers, Dr. Allison Knight and Dr. Dan St. John for their role in providing counseling and support services for our students. I can see an immediate improvement in confidence, motivation and overall outlook when a student meets with them.
*️⃣ There are plenty of other people on campus and off that support the PA profession that I didn’t have the pleasure of running into today. Happy PA Week to all of you!
