We always look forward to the weekends for our Silog specials 😋 So we wanted to share some more history of these comforting dishes. 

At home, Silog is typically made with last night’s leftovers. Whether it’s a protein like Tapa or Bangus, or just Gulay, it’s refried with leftover rice for breakfast with that extra bawang 🧄🌞 
 
The word Silog is actually a combination of Sinangag (garlic fried rice) 🍚 and Itlog (egg) 🍳 

Since the 1980s, restaurants in the Philippines and beyond have brought the comforts of home to their menus with Silog specials. We share ours every weekend to remember the simple pleasure of enjoying a nourishing breakfast with family ❤️
