About our winner: Marly Holmquist is an NDSU student studying strategic communications with a minor in music. Her love for creativity and design, as well as her fiancé's newfound love for hockey, led her to enter this competition. "I figured it'd be something new, " said Holmquist. "and the thought of seeing a creation come to life is so exciting." Holmquist is beyond excited for the Fan Appreciation game in April, and following that, she is looking forward to graduating from college and marrying the love of her life. She would like to sincerely thank each and every person that voted for her, and she wants everyone to know that this opportunity means the world to her. Go Force!

Winners design process: Honestly, when I first started creating my jersey, I was just playing around on procreate. This project was something fun to work on. It wasn't work. I could just do whatever and hope for the best. But as this jersey started to take shape, I started to see the vision. Logos were added, lines were made straight, and before I knew it, there was a hockey jersey in front of me. And the look of this jersey, along with the voting process reminds me a lot of the Air Force. The pattern, colors, and sharpness give it an almost camouflaged look. And the process of voting reminds me of the incredible brotherhood formed in the military. All I have to say is that it takes a village, and I am incredibly thankful for mine. I couldn't have done it without everyone that voted for me, and I want to genuinely thank each and every one of you.
