Next up in our Senior Spotlights is Plattsburgh State Lacrosse commit, Brian Pohoreckyj (brianpoho32 )!

Brian is a 4-year varsity player for the Vikings’ lacrosse team and has been the starting X-attackman since Sophomore year.  He’s been an instrumental player for the Vikings and took on the significant role of being Quarterback of the offense.

Pohoreckyj has an innate ability to create something out of nothing, and is a tremendous feeder from X. He also has quick dodges, excellent vision, and is a fantastic inside finisher.  This excellent vision is evident in his skip passes, which oftentimes leads to a goal for Port.

This past season, Brian racked up a stellar 20 goals and 29 assists.  Along with 49 points, he had many terrific games, such as having 2 goals and 6 assists versus Wantagh, and 3 goals and 3 assists versus Baldwin. Additionally, this past season, he had 2 goals and 2 assists versus Oceanside, which includes the game-winner.  His impressive season and ability to stay composed under pressure led to him earning All-Conference Honors last year.

Brian is also a key player on the Men’s Volleyball team for Port, and was the starting Libero this past season.  He even had the second most digs in Nassau County with 167.

Overall, Brian Pohoreckyj is a great athlete who made significant impacts on both the lacrosse and volleyball team, and should see playing time as a Freshman on the Plattsburgh State lacrosse team next year!
