One month (#FlagshipFebruary) is too short to celebrate all of the great flagship beers out there so we're getting behind #FlagshipFriday, a weekly celebration of classic beers.⠀
⠀
We first brewed Denver Pale Ale back in 1996. Back then, it was an English-Style Pale Ale with a medium body, earthy hop character, and dry finish. The beer won Great American Beer Festival medals in 1997, 1999, 2002 and 2006, World Beer Cup honors in 1998 and 2000 and a “Best of Denver” from denverwestword⠀
⠀
In 2016, to reflect the changing tastes of craft beer drinkers and the evolution of its namesake city, the recipe was updated to an American-Style Pale Ale showcasing hops the US craft beer drinker had grown accustomed to. ⠀
But the recipe change was not the only update, we also introduced the Denver Pale Ale Artist Series.⠀
⠀
For this project, we invited local artists to use the can as a canvas to express their interpretation of the city of Denver and state of Colorado. Our first artist was josholland, followed by notjohnvogl, rjablonskiart and most recently, scotlefavor⠀
⠀
Stay tuned for some exciting announcements concerning Denver Pale Ale this year including the announcement of the Denver Pale Ale Artist Series No. 5 creator. Scroll through for a sneak peek at the art!
