Recently I have switched styles to shooting handheld for weddings (except for a few occasions). And i absolutely love this style! 
.
In my opinion, this style allows for the audience to feel more engaged in the video, as if they are almost there, rather than using a gimbal. 
.
Learning to go mostly handheld for weddings has been a little challenge. But I love the shots I’m able to get including this running and spinning shot with a recent couple, and gives me more room for creativity!
