Did you know that some CubeSats are launched into orbit via a Cosmonaut *THROWING* IT during an EVA? Watch that video! (Swipe 👉🏼) I had no idea this was even possible. 😳🛰️

We visited Sputnix in Moscow - the company that launched the FIRST private Russian satellite into orbit (3rd image - this is a prototype of the one that was launched on the Dnepr rocket in 2014)

So this CubeSat I'm holding - it's a prototype of the two CubeSats Sputnix currently has in orbit right now. They put a large handle on it so that the Cosmonaut could securely hold it during their EVA and that handle stays with the cubesat as it orbits the Earth! Not a recommended deployment strategy if you need a very specific orbit, but it worked for their purposes! 🛰️🛰️🛰️
