These pics are 40+ years apart 🥹... Yes, **forty+** years ago, my husband’s dad hiked 15 miles to stand at the base of this very waterfall.

Our Havasupai backpacking trip was more than just an adventure; it was a perfect way to remember Evan’s incredible father, who recently and unexpectedly left us too soon.

Standing where he once stood and hiking the same 30+ miles of trail felt a little surreal, and was the best way to keep his spirit alive.

WHAT WE LEARNED

❤️‍🩹 Revisiting a place special to our loved one has the power to heal.

❤️‍🩹 If that place is in nature, the healing power is multiplied! 

❤️‍🩹 It keeps their spirit alive in a way that feels amazing.

❤️‍🩹 It allowed us to feel connected.

❤️‍🩹 Travel IS healing.

❤️‍🩹 It’s not only OK, it’s essential to talk about and reminisce about our lost loved ones. 

❤️‍🩹 We’re not promised tomorrow—LIVE now.

And the best part? It got us talking about trips we can do together in the future... experiences that he always wanted to do and never had the chance. Now, in a way, we’ll experience them for him and through him. 

Happy belated Father’s Day to those with us and those watching over us 🫶.
