Held at the HQ of Meadow.sf in San Fran—a place stacked with memories, including a hash-making class I took with frenchycannoli in 2015—the event was a preview of the week of events planned around the holiday for concentrates, 7/10, aka July 10. Following this April’s first #SFWeedWeek, #SFHashWeek is turning #710 into a seven-day celebration of all things heady."

“The plant does so much for us, and for us to be able to gather in honor of what it can produce, it’s pretty incredible,” Meadow’s HuaDavid said at the kickoff event. “[#SanFrancisco] is not just a special place; it’s a special group of people. I’m extremely humbled to be sitting here amongst everyone that’s still standing, that’s still fighting, that’s still pushing. It’s not easy, but the quality is insane.”

“Opportunity to hang out with the customers, it’s always a good thing,” said Terryn Buxton, owner of oakland.extracts. “Hanging out with people who love the product, fans of ca**abis in general, spending time with them. I think personally the best part of the event is just things like this. Actually being able to hang out with people who have been in the business for so long. Hash makers are a special breed… there’s a lot of OGs here. The fellowship, to me, is the best part of Hash Week.”

While I joked that I only came to the event to eat thechronickitchen_’s smash burgers, smoking hash with my weedy friends on a sunny San Francisco afternoon was the biggest draw...
