Did you know that Harness Racing New Zealand allocates part of a 1% welfare levy from stakes to help cover the operational costs of having a horse ambulance in attendance at every harness race meeting? 

Last season there was a horse ambulance on course at 254 harness race meetings across the country - from Auckland to Invercargill. 

It's a genuine investment in the welfare of NZ's equine athletes, supported by clubs and participants in the racing industry, that puts #TheHorseFirst.

A huge thanks to the team at HRNZ for their generous commitment to caring for our horses.
