## Caption

A twitter user named Keith Woods posted side by side photos of the Canada national team from 2000 to 2024 and wrote about how “tragic” it is that they are going through a “population replacement.”

The tweet went viral, and caught the attention of Canadian defender Alistair Johnston, who’s in the 2024 team photo.

Johnston responded by saying he and the other two “white” players in the 2024 photo, Milan Borjan and Stephen Eustáquio, are the sons of immigrants.

He highlighted how Canada is a nation of diverse immigrants, which makes the country special instead and not tragic.

This comes just a couple days after Canada defender Moïse Bombito received heavy racist abuse for tackling Lionel Messi in a game.

It’s sad to see that people continue to hate on non-white players playing for Canada, a melting pot nation which is home to many immigrants and different cultures.
