After graduating from Centennial High School in Boise, Dan left Idaho to serve in the military as well as pursue higher education. He ended up at UCLA and played on the football team, where even though he compares his experience to Bobby Bouche’s in Waterboy, Dan graduated with a degree in history and then went into action on the Global War on Terror. While deployed, he joined a band of paratrooping terrorist-fighters as a young infantry officer in the 82nd Airborne Division and later wandered into the world of barrel-chested freedom fighters as a Army Special Forces Officer (Green Beret). ⁣

Dan’s identity, for better or worse, was shaped through his deployments to places like Iraq, Afghanistan, North Africa, The Levant, and the Philippines. He was impacted a bit by a catastrophic incident in Afghanistan in 2017, but has been steadily increasing his pace on the road to recovery since. Dan’s big focus is to close the gap between the civilian populace of our great Nation and it’s very small warfighting population. His mantra is “always a veteran, never a victim”--Dan seeks battle.⁣
