If you're in the job hunt and you've been offered an interview, congratulations! Audenne Valdez, one of our Hire Heroes USA Transition Specialists, is a pro at helping people prepare for interviews and has shared the following summary of tips to help you move on to the next round: ⁣

⁣
1) Practice answering interview questions on your own while taking notes. Some you might hear are, "Tell me about yourself", "Why should we hire you?", and "How do you maintain an effective working relationship?" Support your responses with examples but also stay concise. ⁣
⁣
⁣
2) You may also be given scenarios and asked how you would approach them. For a supervisor role, you could hear, "You have an employee who isn’t adhering to company standards, what steps do you take for corrective action?" Make sure to also understand the job qualifications and company culture so you can convey why you're a good fit. ⁣
⁣
⁣
3) Practice with someone in-person or on the phone. If you can't find anyone, record yourself and watch for areas of improvement such as tone, eye contact, pace, and posture. Note that most interviews take about 30 minutes. ⁣
