June is Pride month and Migraine and Headache Awareness month. We celebrate Pride and want to highlight migraine disparities for people who identify as LGBTQ+. A recent study found people who are LGBTQ+ are 58% more likely to experience migraine compared to people who identify as heterosexual, and one-third of LGBTQ+ individuals experience migraine. Read more about the study at the link  below. The research is limited and we encourage future research to further improve care for everyone who is LGBTQ+. 

It is important to acknowledge everyone holds different identities, such as gender, gender identity, sexual identity, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, age, and disability status. People have multiple identities that result in differences in how they experience the world. Intersectionalities of certain identities result in increased discrimination and disadvantage.
