Event 3- Skill Speed Medley

The Good
I am really comfortable on pegboards and handstand walk obstacles at least regular versions, so I was really looking forward to that first round. I even had my little playground rope I threw in my bag last minute to crush the single unders (Frevo Rope from rxsg). I didn’t mess up on any jump rope and only had 1 no rep on my pistols so that was a win. Made it through the first round I think 6th overall.

The Bad
Ohhhh boy that was the longest pegboard of my life. Made it to the second round and it was strict pegboards. I had done these maybe once or twice in the past but I had no idea how these would go. Rep 1 was challenging  but I made it through. Instead of resting I decided to wait two seconds and start my next pegboard because I am a CrossFit Games athlete and I can “definitely jump up and do another one”. About 1/4 the way up my arms straightened… If your arms straighten on a strict pegboard it makes things way harder.😂 I then managed to complete the rep by doing scap pull ups using the middle hole alllll the way up. Korrin said the entire coliseum was very invested in my 2nd pegboard and I gave them all a scare when I almost fell off at the very bottom.

-I didn’t practice any crossover dubs before the event. There were people in the back so focused and stressed about crossover dubs and they had no business being in the final round anyway🤷🏼‍♂️
-Press to handstands hardcore stressed me out the week before The Games but they finally clicked.
-People were falling off the pegboard left and right and that was entertaining. Right before I went on the floor I told myself not to rush these and get it in all the way in the hole. #thatswhatshesaid
-Brent Fikowski is a jump rope wizard and no one got to see
