Ralph Ziman's #CasspirProject focuses on the #Casspir truck that symbolized oppression in the #Apartheid era. The truck is covered in coloured glass beads arranged in traditional patterns by artisans from #Zimbabwe and the South African region of #Mpumalanga. Interestingly, after being decommissioned in #SouthAfrica, some of these bullet- and mine-proof machines were used by the US military in the #IraqWar, as well as by local police forces during events such as #Ferguson and #BLM. #CapeTownPhotoEssay
