The Historic Westside just became the first neighborhood in the city to have a community-based urban agricultural farming facility! 😃 🥬🍓🥔🌼

Today we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of the Urban Farm at James Gay Park. 🌳

The goal of the new local food source is to help tackle food insecurity for the area.

The Urban Farm at James Gay Park is funded by a $500,000 donation from mgmresortsintl to The Mayor’s Fund for Las Vegas LIFE.

#FunFacts about the Urban Farm:
-Produce will grow in two climate-controlled containers that can operate year-round 🥬
-Approximately 320 square feet of growing space 🥔
-Produce output is equivalent to nearly 3.5 acres of farmland or eight tons of produce 🍓
-Containers suitable for growing lettuce, leafy greens, herbs, vining berries, rooted vegetables and flowers🌼
