It's only right I pay a tribute to my second home in Santa Cruz, OPERS. This my friends, is where the journey started on a sunny afternoon in September 2012. #Lilpoppa weighed about 145lbs and was scrawny AF! Perks of running track in high school! LOL over the course of 4 years I've added just over 30 lbs of muscle weighing in at 178. (Before finals took place! Haha!) OPERS has been my sanctuary. From helping me get through the rough days in college to being my favorite activity on the to-do list, lifting weights has seriously kept me sane and leveled. I don't know how I would have managed with my emotional highs and lows without it. If I didn't do too hot on an exam, felt some type of way, or lacked confidence in myself OPERS ALWAYS craidled me in its arms and whispered in my ear, STOP BEING A ***** AND GET YO **** TOGETHER! 😂 This place has also been responsible for bringing and cultivating some of my fondest friendships over the years. From my OG coworkers to the new ones; to my fellow bros and broettes, this was always a place I could unwind and act a fool. 😂 And ACT A FOOL I DID! Kinda like TuPac's Thug Mansion. ✊ To all the people who had the same SWOLE schedule as me over the years, believe it or not I looked to forward to seeing you all in iron paradise. My routine was beyond the clanking weights and the music in my headphones, it was greeting homies and acquaintances and fostering those relationships. It's obvious to say that this place will be dearly missed bc it was much more than a place, it was part of my life. I was here for a good time not a long time.
