In celebration of Asian-American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, for this week's #TuesdayTakeover, meet student-leader and former Mr. New York Tech, Mohammad Tariq Jamal (B.S. '18), affectionately known as Tariq. Keep reading to learn more about him:

🇸🇦 Tariq was born and raised in Saudi Arabia, but his family is originally from Pakistan.

🎓 Graduating from New York Tech in 2018 with his B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies, Tariq has returned to get his master's degree in communication arts and plans on pursuing a career in higher education. 

🗽For fun, Tariq loves exploring the city, watching movies, and trying new foods. His ultimate go-to is Thai food! 

🐱Fun fact: Tariq and his brother share a cat named Sonu.
