x @11lgnds | History has been made, and it’s blue and gold. In the three years of history of the professional women's football league in Mexico (Liga BBVA MX Femenil), Pumas was the only team that had never played at their home stadium. 
Usually, they played at their club house ‘La Cantera,’ which has seen a lot of good times, bad times, plenty of goals, celebrations, tears and goodbyes. The only thing that has never changed there is the support from their people. The chants from the bleachers have never stopped. After six seasons and 86 games played at ‘La Cantera’, Pumas finally made the Estadio Olímpico Universitario -- main stadium of the UNAM and home of the athletic competitions in the ‘68 Olympic Games -- their home. This time, the chants from the stands didn’t stop either. But something was different. Not just 1000 people were part of this historical day for them. This time, 22,289 souls were chanting ‘Goya’ (the club’s signature song) in unison. 22,289 people supporting women’s football in Mexico City.
The game between Pumas and Cruz Azul last weekend will surely be a huge step in favor of equality in this beautiful sport, and it will be remembered in Mexican women's football history forever. 📸: @marianaam__ @chivomxx .
