Brillant.
In their second match of the season at Audi Field, D.C. United dramatically overturned a 1-0 deficit in the second half to defeat Inter Miami by a score of 2-1. Rodolfo Pizarro scored Miami’s first ever goal in MLS in the 2’, but the highlight of the match would be a ten minute sequence in the second half. This ten minute stretch included an overturned goal by VAR, a red card for Miami, and two back-to-back goals by D.C. United. The first goal came via a penalty from Yamil Asad, and the second was a sizzling half-volley from Frederic Brillant merely a minute later. For a team that has looked lackluster early this season, perhaps this game can spark a flame under a squad that has plenty of potential.
