Furlong Baldwin Library, allows Museum visitors to step into the minds of Marylanders throughout history and see the world through their eyes. Click on "Museum Exhibitions" in our bio to learn more.

Though the stories in this exhibition span time and place, they provide only a glimpse into Maryland’s past. The lives, belongings, and stories of marginalized and underprivileged people were rarely preserved in archival collections. We are actively seeking material that better represents the diverse spectrum of life in Maryland. If you have material that you would like to donate to the Museum or Library, please visit mdhistory.org/donate/item-donations.

Even now, Marylanders are living through a unique moment in history. Written personal accounts provide vital historical information that would not otherwise be known and demonstrate a more human side of history. How has the pandemic affected you, your daily life, and the lives of those around you? In what ways does the world look different, and in what ways has it remained the same?
