## Caption

We have the answer to our first Flag Trivia question from March 1. The question was: What was this flag wrapped around before it flew in battle? The answer: A baby!

This silk taffeta flag, painted with gold stars, was given to Captain Benjamin L. Simpson, of Company A, Purnell’s Legion, by the Ladies of Old-Town in 1860. After the presentation of the flag, the daughter of Captain Simpson, Minnie Ellsworth, was wrapped in the folds of the flag and baptized by the Rev. Mr. Bowen.
