Band Drill Explained ⬇️

Hitting starts from the ground beneath your feet and using the force against it to create a flow of energy into the baseball.
The band acts as a reinforcement holding you down creating a stronger force into the earth. Upon swinging you need to hit against that force while keeping your hips level. This will help you create a more linear, powerful swing while rotating. 

Physics 101:
Newtons 3rd Law - for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. 
You act a force into the ground (legs), then the ground will act an equal force upon you…and into the ball.
