“It’s impossible to list just one thing. Coming from England, I loved waking up to a Carolina blue sky and sunshine and walking to class surrounded by friends. I loved the integration of academics, athletics and a vibrant social scene. But the thing that sticks most in my mind is the passion and love the Carolina community had for the Tar Heels. Every person I would meet then and those that I meet now who are associated with UNC in any capacity have a love and reverence for the institution. I am proud now to be part of that group and to say those wonderful words – ‘I’m a Tar Heel.’”

A familiar face and a key figure in both national titles in school history, the 2004 UNC graduate helped lead the Tar Heels to their first national championship as a player in 2001 and again as an assistant coach in 2011.

“I’m eternally grateful for the academic and athletic opportunity I received as part of UNC and UNC Soccer family. Earning one of the most prestigious degrees in the world while having the honor to wear the NC logo is something I will take with me forever. There are endless benefits from both the academic and athletic side of things impacting me to this day, but mainly I look back and reflect with pride and gratitude of just how fortunate I was to have the experience of being a Tar Heel.”
