Named for the historic New York family for whose land the park rests on, this northern Bronx sanctuary has been a mecca for runners through many generations. It regularly hosts races from middle school dual meets to US Championships. 
#
We come here for thresholds and tempos on the flat 2k+ cinder loop. The warm up starts on the leaf covered Putnam Trail and if we are feeling spicy, the back hills for a cool down. While I have raced up cemetery, I like to think of it as the spot where I got engaged instead. And when the workout is done, Lloyd's Carrot Cake is the best you'll ever have.
