Comment “BLOG” and I’ll DM you a link that has everything you should avoid doing at the gym if you are over 35, and what you should focus on instead!

Many times we fall victim to the workout myths or simply think we know what’s best for us when we really don’t. Especially as women start to age, the way you workout should change as well.

Long cardio sessions that may have previously helped you shed weight in your 20s no longer works because it may actually be increasing your cortisol levels leading to hormone imbalances and more weight gain!

Some women tend to only stick to low-weight weight-lifting for the fear of getting bulky muscles, but this won’t happen unless you specifically train for it! Actually, weightlifting will lead to more weight loss than cardio will! And you will build beautiful lean and toned muscles alongside burning those calories.

Make sure you’re not getting too comfortable with set-in-stone routines. Implementing diverse workouts will help challenge your body and different muscles and ultimately increase your calorie burn.

Lastly, you need to leave that all-or-nothing mindset behind. This mindset can lead to perfectionism and setting unrealistic standards which will likely lead to burnout. What matters most is consistency, so even if you can’t get that hour-long workout in every day, try a 15-minute walk. You should try to be active every day in some form, but remind yourself that it is okay if there are days you just can’t do it or don’t have the time. You should listen to your body and allow yourself to live your life as well.
Your fitness journey does not come to an end as you age, but we need to make adjustments as our bodies change.
