On June 14, 1964, the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) began training 1,000 volunteers at Western College for Women in Ohio. 🏫 

They were trained to register Black voters, teach in Freedom Schools, and support the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party. 🗳️

A week into the volunteers’ training in Ohio, tragedy struck in Mississippi.
