This was back as I was prepping for my first show in 2021, my first time stepping on stage since 2014. I had just been officially signed on with TrueNutrition as an athlete (and full disclosure I had ZERO idea what that meant - just that I was excited to be a part of something). A lot happened during this time. A lot of big changes. I really pushed into my coaching career and had the most clients ever, I finally saw there might be a way out of a normal 8-5 job. Shoutout to alainathomass my sister for shaving me pre show. I grew my first beard. And shaved my head (not for the first time, but the first in a while). For this show I grew out my PINK mohawk. This was to support a really influential woman who had survived breast cancer and wore a pink mohawk herself. She left me the note: β€œ Pain is Mandatory, Misery is Optional” and those words have stayed in my head ever since. What a wild ride the last 3 years have been.
