She was abandoned at a shelter in San Antonio, Texas and had suffered a spinal injury that left her with hind end paralysis. The shelter had her on the euthanize list when redfernanimalrescue, picked her up and placed her with a foster family in Colorado. Her foster family, coloradofosterfam, described her as laying flat on her chest and unable to move when she was first brought to them. Through rehab and with her Walkin’ Pets wheelchair she was able to stand and then start walking. My husband and I saw Kiwi featured for adoption on the Walkin’ Pets Instagram page and immediately fell in love with her. We enjoyed following along with her journey and had a few conversations with the animal rescue and foster family to more fully understand her needs. She joined our family in January of this year. She continued her therapy while we were living in Seattle and is now working hard again to stand independently and learn to walk at vomcvet, her new rehab facility in Florida. Kiwi has been such a great addition to our fur family and we have enjoyed watching her bring new energy to our two other older dogs.
