“I chose to shoot in S35 format because of the type of lenses I wanted to use. For ‘The Blind,’ we used two RED #HELIUM8K cameras with Hawk V-Lite Anamorphic lenses, as well as ¼ and ½ Black Alchemy filters from Tokina. My goal was to achieve a realistic image, and I knew we would have to shoot exteriors in the middle of the day and rush to get shots 40 minutes after sunset due to the film’s tight schedule. For our interiors, I used practical lights as the base and low-output LEDs. Having a camera that I could trust in the shadows was crucial, which is why I decided to shoot with RED.”-Cinematographer Chris Stacey on the making of CSC-nominated film “The Blind,” now streaming on primevideo. #ShotonRED
