Do you drag your trail elbow? It can lead to a loopy backswing or your hands working too far towards the ball in the downswing.

You can see examples of players hitting it well from this position but it’s not a guarantee. 

Drill time!! Take the club away with your lead arm only. After that attach your trail arm make sure your trail elbow points towards the ground not behind you. Make a backswing from there feel the difference. After that repeat the rep and hit the ball.
