New week, new case study! 👇

This time it’ll be all about trying to swing more from the inside. It’s no surprise that many of you out there struggle with a big slice, so I want to go through a bunch of different scenarios I come across as to why that might happen.

Obviously one of the primary reasons for a slice is a path that gets too strong from outside-in. Contrary to what some of you might think, the reason is not the same for everyone. There is no such thing as a universal drill that will guaranteed solve your problems.

First thing we need to do is establish which variable is creating the issue.

The first case study is going to be about the HAND PATH. No matter what the club is doing in the golf swing, if you’re someone who lacks of a ton of depth to the hands in the swing, you will likely see a path that struggles to come from the inside of the ball.

I’m using my student Tyler as an example. Believe it or not, one of the very few things we discussed between his old & new swings are where his hands are going in the swing.

You can actually take a golfer, leave their shaft pitch at the same angle, but bring their hands more “in” (whether at the top or in the downswing), and as a result their path will be more inside-out than they were before. For him specifically, this was done by freeing up his trail leg to create more extension. That allowed him to create a deeper turn into the hip, which then got his hand path working more around him (less upright) naturally.

If you want to avoid cutting across the ball by such a big amount, this is not the only variable that can improve, but it plays a BIG role in that. Take a look at the changes and see where the hands now are in his swing. Flatter, deeper arm structure. New on the right! 💰💰
