✨ Experience: Horseshoe Bend

✨ When & Where: May 2022 - Page, AZ 

✨ This was a stop we wanted to make on our cross country road trip and it was so worth it! Once you park (pay parking and entrance fee) you will embark on a 1/2 mile trail that is reasonably flat. It can get pretty windy and could be so windy that you feel the sand hit your face and body. When the wind came we put RexSpecs on Ziggy to help avoid the sand into her eyes. Or if we didn’t have time to put them on her we would just stop and cover her eyes until the wind stopped. Horseshoe bend overlooks the Colorado River with a 1,000-foot drop. When you get there you’ll see a second with a rail and then lots of space without a rail. You can spread out and walk left or right exploring more of the overlook. We visited a little before the sunset (even tho you can’t tell because the sky is basically a dust cloud). I’d love to come back on a clear day around sunrise. That would be beautiful. 

✨ Fun facts: 
- Horseshoe Bend was located six million years ago at a much higher elevation than today.
- Horseshoe Bend is one of the most popular features of Glen Canyon
